Multi-phase flow and transport in porous media is prevalent a wide range of challenging fluid mechanics problems related to sustainability, energy, the environment. Accurate prediction displacement interaction such flows vital addressing these problems. In particular it critical understand small- or pore-scale its spatial temporal evolution, which can impact behaviors at system scales nontrivial manner. Intermittency phenomenon currently observed numerical experimental studies single-phase (Anna et al., n.d.; Morales n.d.), but case multi-phase has yet receive much study due challenges faced both simulations experiments. The underlying physics spreading, mixing, interfacial processes must be understood for accurate predictions systems.
